Η πενταμελής μπάντα, που συμμετείχε στο διαγωνισμό The X Factor στη Βρετανία, «νίκησε» τον Justin Bieber και τη Rihanna στην κατηγορία του καλύτερου pop video clip και τους The Wanted στην κατηγορία των πρωτοεμφανιζόμενων καλλιτεχνών.
Η επανεμφάνιση της Pink, το νέο λουκ της Rihanna και η παρουσία του Robert Pattinson στη σκηνή ξεχώρισαν από τη βραδιά των MTV Video Music Awards.
