Η επιστροφή του ιρλανδικού ροκ συγκροτήματος U2 στη μουσική σκηνή είναι πραγματική.
H μπάντα έχει έτοιμο το δέκατο τρίτο στούντιο άλμπουμ της Songs of Innocence, μέσω των Island Records και Universal Music. Οι U2 παρουσίασαν ζωντανά το τραγούδι “The Miracle (του Joey Ramone)” κατά τη διάρκεια του Keynote της Apple και αμέσως μετά επιβεβαίωσαν την απελευθέρωση ολόκληρου του άλμπουμ σε όλο τον κόσμο, στο iTunes αποκλειστικά για δωρεάν download.
Σχετικά με το άλμπουμ o Bono είπε σε μια συνέντευξη στο περιοδικό Rolling Stone:
We wanted to make a very personal album. Let’s try to figure out why we wanted to be in a band, the relationships around the band, our friendships, our lovers, our family. The whole album is first journeys — first journeys geographically, spiritually, sexually. And that’s hard. But we went there.
Οι ημερομηνίες της επερχόμενης παγκόσμιας περιοδείας τους μπορεί να ανακοινωθούν το Δεκέμβριο. Η περιοδεία θα ξεκινήσει τον Απρίλιο του επόμενου έτους.
